Oh Squirrel is a modern stationery, party accessories and homewares brand, specialising in beautiful, personal, thoughtful products that champion positivity and kindness, and are sentimental without being saccharine. It originally started out in 2012 as an occasional stall at a local market, selling greetings cards made in owner Katie's bedroom. "I used materials I’d collected (or ‘squirreled’, if you will) from vintage fairs, car boot sales or just picked up on my travels". Fast forward a few years and Oh Squirrel is an established brand, with a flagship store in Walthamstow, East London with offers an array of different products.
Oh Squirrel has partnered with many well known brands, including a Pop Up Shop with Instagram to launch their shopping feature, and events with Topshop, the Soho House group and Fortnum & Mason.
The brand is proudly stocked in independent shops all over the UK. You may also have seen Oh Squirrel featured in The Independent, The Metro, Brides, Evening Standard, Emerald Street (now called Stylist Loves), Betty Magazine, Rock & Roll Bride, 91 Magazine, Zoella, Simply Sewing, Mollie Makes, Modern Calligraphy Magazine, or Tatler, who called Oh Squirrel ‘one of the best stationery shops in the UK’.
Products are either handmade at the Oh Squirrel studio, or printed within UK based factories. Katie works closely with suppliers to ensure the quality within every product in the range is top notch. A big achievement for 2020 was moving all production of the HENRIES award nominated glitter typography cards to be made using biodegradable glitter. The range then went on to be a finalist in the 2023 HENRIES in its biodegradable form!
