I'm so excited about what I'm sharing today! Both excited and nervous, in fact - you're about to see into the world of Oh Squirrel - on film!
Back in the Spring I had a very happy Monday indeed when an intriguing email landed in my inbox from Lisa of May I Say Productions, enquiring about the possibility of working together on creating a promotional video for Oh Squirrel. I absolutely leapt at the chance - what an incredible opportunity to have products on film, to see the process of everything coming together and create something to share the story of the brand. It wasn't until we sat down and had a meeting that I realised that I too would be on screen...
Lisa and Sam were wonderful to work with - so clear with their vision, and totally 'got' what the brand is about. Rather than create an 'advert' - the idea is that the video tells the story, how it came about, the processes, the person, the end result - all tied together in a very pretty package. The video is something I'm so thrilled to be able to share with you.
It's also a lovely opportunity for you to see into the studio and what happens every day! I don't simply pick products off a shelf and stick them in an envelope - pieces are made with care and attention to detail, and it's lovely to be able to show that.
We had fun adding some personality to the video too - spot 'those shoes'! I also particularly like the happy instragram face I seem to be pulling! I'm definitely not used to being in front of the camera, initially I was pretty scared by it, but Lisa and Sam were so professional and made me feel at ease. I don't think Kirstie Allsopp should be worrying quite yet though...
All the 'hen party' scenes were filmed outside of the studio - Lisa styled everything so perfectly and captured exactly what I dream of being an Oh Squirrel Hen Party! One of my favourite touches is the confetti (spoiler alert). I must also talk about Sam too - Sam filmed and edited the video and has such a brilliant eye for detail - these guys comes as a perfect package!
I have to take a moment to talk about 'that cake' - incredible right?! Tarunima of My Little Cake Tin kindly worked on cakes designed just for this - her work is incredible and I felt so honoured! The lovely Pip Lowe Flowers contributed some beautiful blooms for the film too - you can spy them over on the Instagram trailer.
So here it is, courtesy of May I Say Productions, may I present Oh Squirrel The Movie! There is plenty of audio to enjoy (although hearing my rather infectious laugh on camera has been a bit of revelation for me, oh dear!) so be sure to pop the volume up whilst listening. I'd love to know your thoughts!
May I Say are a Boutique Production Agency based in London - if the video inspires you to thinking about having something created for you, then please get in touch with them! I am beyond thrilled with the outcome and can't wait to see more of their work!
