Something a little different now!
I've had a bit of a break from markets and events over the Summer to concentrate on other areas of my business which has paid off massively, however I'm pretty excited to announce that this coming Sunday I will be back at a market, in my wonderful home, Crouch End
This event is a bit of a special one, and as such I'd love to tell you some more about it.
A while back I got a really exciting message from Jet, who has run many a wonderful event in London that I've taken part in. I was always attracted to the events which Jet ran as they had a good mix of music and shopping… and always the best cake. Jet has been running markets since 2010, alongside her fantastic vintage shop 'Can't Buy Me Love' in Muswell Hill so very much knows what she is doing (and is always wearing the nicest outfits whenever I see her!) Anyway! This message was to myself and a handful of other traders she's become friends with… the idea is that we created a new event as part of a co-operative where we all did different bits and pieces to make it happen… what a wonderful idea! We have all been taking on different roles to promote and organise the event which has been very fun.
So here it is! In Earl Haig Hall next Sunday 26th October 2014, we are launching the Legion of Extraordinary Traders! & to make it easy for you to come along and support us, here are the vital statistics:
Where is it? Earl Haig Hall - Elder Avenue, Crouch End, London N8 9TH - website . If travelling from outside of Crouch End, take the W3 bus from Finsbury Park and alight at the YMCA - it's just a moment down the road. You can also walk from Highgate Station - it's a lovely walk from there but a bugger of a hill on the way back (just to warn you!)
When is it? Sunday 26th October, 12-5pm
What will be there? The lovely pub that is the Earl Haig will be open and serving sunday roasts. I LOVE this pub as it's decor is very, very special. You have to come or have a look at the photos to see what I mean. Drinks are really well priced too! The event itself has many traders across both vintage and handmade - here is the list with links to their facebook pages. Please note this is subject to change so if there is someone in particular you're desperate to meet, please liaise with them directly:

When is the next one? It's up to you! Well, sort of. This is a pilot event and if it's a success then we will look to run more, however that depends on footfall, and most importantly how much fun we all have. If you like the idea of this event please pop along and show your support.
Can I have a stall? I'm afraid on this occasion it's all booked up, however the best way to stay in touch is to 'like' the Facebook page and this will keep you update. You can also follow the twitter handle @extraordinaryCE too. Please only send messages via the Facebook page and not this website as this is the Oh Squirrel website.
What will I be able to buy? OK! Here we go… vintage clothes (menswear and womenswear), shoes & jewellery, retro homewares, small furniture pieces, handmade stationery & gifts, christmas cards, dog teepees (you NEED to see these, PupTart is amazing!) and plenty of awesome ideas to start nailing your Christmas shopping. You can then celebrate with a Sunday G&T!
If you want to know anything specific, best thing to do is contact the trader's individually (those with Facebook pages have been linked) as I only know personally what I will be bringing, but I have done markets with plenty of these awesome folk personally and the standard of Vintage on sale is very high and well worth a visit?
Anything Else? If you're local then we can't wait to see you! If you're travelling from further away then you're wonderfully welcome! For some ideas of how to make a day of it, I can recommend an Autumnal Walk in Alexandra Palace, tea & cake at The Haberdashery, a milkshake at Riley's, shopping at Little Paris, Painted Black, Scarlet Rage, Niddle Noddle, and all the brilliant Charity Shops… as well as a bit of local celebrity spotting, we have lots!
Oh & entry is free! This is the Facebook page too.
PS - A big thank you to all the local businesses who are kindly displaying posters & flyers for us - very much appreciated!
