Oh what a day - my first wedding fair!
I was so excited (and a bit nervous) to exhibit at my first wedding fair. I've worked on so many weddings now but I've never actually exhibited my work before - it was so nerve-racking. It wasn't like I'd gone to a small local fair - this is a big specialist Vintage one amongst some incredible suppliers. As I was exhibiting both wedding and hen party products I made myself a sash! I am not a 'Bride to Be' so it's an 'Oh Squirrel' one!
I'd prepared everything including a huge A3 Portfolio of samples, price lists and coconut nougat (so tasty) but the one thing I hadn't prepared was to talk for 5 hours! It was so incredible to talk to so many lovely Brides (and a few grooms too!) about their weddings, and hear lovely things about my work. I'm really pleased how well everything was received.
My favourite compliment to get was that it was 'different' to anything else customers had seen. As a designer I'm always looking forwards to new ideas rather than around at other people, as I would never ever want to be a copycat. I just love developing new ideas and it was so great these were well received.
I'm really excited as I've already got email enquiries and one order! I only left the building a couple of hours ago!
Thanks so much to all the folk I met today, and to Miss Vintage Wedding Affair!
PS - I didn't take too many photographs today as it was just so busy. If you were one of the lovely people I met today and are looking for photographs of something you've seen, please send me an email and I'll find one for you. I've added a few new photographs to the wedding section of my website too - thank you!
