I'm currently hard at work and having a fantastic time working on a smart little Valentine's range, well, I say little... At this rate it's going to be huuuuuge!
Regular customers and friends of Oh Squirrel will know that music is a rather large source of inspiration to me, and one of the ranges I'm working on is very much around this merry little theme. I don't want to give too much away but I'm very excited about it! The pictures I've posted above are previous works from last year, but just to give ya a flavour and reminder of what is to come perhaps ;-) but better! Oh I'm silly excited now!
So! I wanted to organise a little competition. What I would love to hear are some song lyrics which sum up a message you would love to see on a Valentine's Card. These could be something super traditional or someone really personal to you. I already have lots of ideas but would love to hear yours too!
Some ideas so far:
* She loves you yeah yeah yeah (obviously the Beatles)
* You're the one for me, fatty (I feel the need to mention this is Morrissey rather than pure offensiveness, not that Morrissey should ever be reasoned...)
* Wait! They don't love you like I love you (Yeah yeah yeahs - Maps)
* Whenever I'm alone with you, you make me feel like I'm whole again (The Cure - Love Song)
* Oh it's a jolly holiday with you (Mary bloody Poppins!!)
* La la love you (Pixies, song the same name of course)
OH GOOD GOD I COULD GO ON FOR DAYS! Your turn!
The winner of the competition will get their card made for them, and sent to arrive in plenty of time for February 14th. And don't worry, I'm not alienating fellow single folk - if you'd prefer to not have a Valentine's card made then I will make you a bespoke card featuring words of your choice. Saying that, I don't think there's anything wrong with having it made just for you to just have as a nice but of artwork or such! I will pick my five favourite entries and then choose one at random from the ol' folded paper method.
THE CLOSING DATE IS SUNDAY JANUARY 27TH
I would LOVE you to enter by posting the submission as a comment on this blog post, but would also be happy to have twitter submissions, Facebook comments or emails to katie(at)ohsquirrel.co.uk
Sound fun? I THINK SO!
If you just can't wait and would like to get your order for a bespoke card in now then please do! I'll be launching the range Mid January, and will have some options available to be purchased online, as well as at up and coming markets which I'll write a blog about shortly, once I've sorted that out.
